David Carpenter

BACKGROUND
Born and raised in Carmel, California, David spent nearly three decades safeguarding travelers and crews at the Monterey Regional Airport Fire Station. His depth of emergency-response experience— from aircraft incidents to structural fires and car accidents—became the foundation for his next chapter in Rocky Point.
PATH TO ROCKY POINT
After relocating to Rocky Point in 2020, David started as a quiet mentor, was elected Board President, and later served as Interim Fire Chief during the search for a permanent chief. He has since stepped down from that role and now serves as Division Chief, volunteer EMT, and board member.
ROLE IN ROCKY POINT
David is 100 percent volunteer. He responds to medical calls, supports fire operations, mentors newer members, and helps strengthen day-to-day readiness so the department stays reliable for the community.
BEYOND THE BOARDROOM
David enjoys fishing local lakes, hunting Oregon’s back-country, and spending time with his wife, four children, a growing crew of grandkids, and a line of spirited Vizslas—a breed his family helped introduce to the United States in the 1960s and ’70s.
