Sandra Handsaker

BACKGROUND
Born in Kansas, Sandra moved west with her family in 1958 and has spent most of her life in Klamath County. Before retiring, she worked for an attorney, then a title company handling closings, and later a credit union where she managed real estate loans, refinances, and home buying classes.
PATH TO SERVICE
After a car accident on Highway 140 in 2004, Sandra met local volunteers and began supporting the department. When she and her husband became full-time Rocky Point residents about 15 years ago, she joined the Board of Directors and served for eight years. She returned to the board on October 13 and now serves as President and Chair.
ROLE IN ROCKY POINT
Sandra previously served as Secretary and Treasurer and has chaired the annual BBQ several times. She believes the community needs strong fire protection and EMS, and she is committed to steady governance and visible community support.
WHAT SHE BRINGS AND FOCUS
Sandra brings deep knowledge of budgets, real estate processes, and member-driven organizations. A long-time Linkville Kiwanis member, she focuses on fundraising, community engagement, and practical support for volunteers and staff.
BEYOND THE BOARDROOM
Sandra enjoys sewing and playing cards. She and her husband have lived in Klamath County for many years, first in a cabin purchased nearly 25 years ago, and their children graduated from Henley High School. Their son lives in Klamath Falls and their daughter lives in Portland. She values service with Kiwanis, including work with special needs students and Key Club.
