Medical

If helping people in critical moments resonates with you, this is your calling.

Whether you’re already certified or just starting out, EMT training is available through our department. You’ll gain real-world experience while supporting emergency medical response efforts in our rural community, where every second counts.

Fire

From wildland response to structure fire support, you’ll train alongside a dedicated team that meets weekly to stay sharp and ready.

No prior experience needed—we’ll teach you everything you need to know. You’ll be hands-on, learning how to operate equipment, stay safe, and protect the community you live in.

Over the Edge Training

This specialized rescue training prepares our team to respond in steep, forested, or uneven terrain—common throughout our region.

Using a Stokes basket, ropes, and a coordinated team approach, we practice how to safely extract injured or unconscious individuals from places standard equipment can’t reach. It’s real, hands-on, and critical for backcountry rescue readiness.

Big Water Fire Training

When you’re fighting fire in a rural area, hydrants aren’t always available.

A hose fills a large red portable tank with water, with two trucks in the background.
That’s why we train for high-volume water movement, using portable tanks, water tenders, and pump relays to supply a steady flow to the fire line. This is where teamwork, timing, and gear knowledge come together to keep the water moving and the fire under control.

Mutual Aid Training

We don’t operate in a vacuum. Our department regularly trains with regional partners, including AirLink’s critical care helicopter crew and neighboring agencies.

These trainings ensure seamless coordination during multi-agency emergencies, where communication, role clarity, and speed can mean the difference between life and death.

Extrication Training

Accidents happen fast, and our team trains to respond just as quickly.

In extrication scenarios, we practice how to safely remove trapped occupants from crashed or damaged vehicles using stabilization tools, cutting equipment, and precise teamwork. Whether it’s a rollover on a back road or a major collision, this training saves lives.
