Greetings Rocky Point Firewise Community! 

As of October 18, 2026: 

FW Klamath County Title lll Grant 2025-2026 in the amount $115,900 was completed June 30, 2026. 

61 properties had mitigation completed by Mark Moore (MSZ), in the Mountain Lakes, 

Varney Creek, Odessa, and Rocky Point areas. 

 

FW Klamath County Title lll Grant 2026 was awarded in August in the amount of $75,000. 

Work on this grant will begin week of October 19th in the Forest Park area, and will be mostly hand mitigation and move along very quickly.  This grant was awarded by RP Firewise to 

 Klamath County Contractors, Eddie Esterbrook. 

 

Oregon Department of Forestry will continue work in Rocky Point through January 2028.  They currently have hand crews working in Rocky Point.  Contractual mitigation will start when bids have been awarded. 

Work with ODF will cover Rocky Point, Mountain Lakes, and Varney Creek.

FW 2026 Renewal due in November 

We are asking for all of you that have Hourly Worksheets to turn them in at the Fire Department in the Red Box at the Front doors by November 1.
